As announced in our blog post, we are thrilled to have a hybrid conference. We are working to ensure that our virtual participants have a great time. Here’s what you need to know:

Socials

  • Schedule: The core schedule remains unchanged and continues to follow the program as listed here. We do, however, plan to have a specific online social event.

  • Online Research Speed Dating in GatherTown:

    • Wednesday 18:00 - 19:00: Alongside the in-person speed dating, we will host an online research speed dating event.
    • Thursday 08:00 - 09:00: To ensure that everyone can participate, we’ve arranged an extra online research speed dating session on Thursday morning for those in time zones that might have difficulty attending the initial session.

Platform & Tools

  • GatherTown: We’ll be utilizing GatherTown for the digital platform of our conference. Posters, talks, and other content will be easily accessible through Gather, and follow the schedule posted on our website. We will send around the link to the Gather space in due time.

  • Talks: All our talks will be streamed via Zoom, with links available from Gather Town. These live-streamed sessions will provide you with an immersive conference experience from wherever you are.

Community & Discussion

  • Discord Server: Our dedicated Discord server will serve as the hub for all chats and discussions, bridging the gap between onsite and online attendees. Channels for individual posters are being set up so that you can ask questions, interact with authors, and engage in lively debates.

  • Missed a Live Session?: If you miss a chance to ask questions live at the poster, don’t worry. Simply post your question in the designated Discord channel, and the authors will be able to respond.

  • Easy Access: To enhance your experience, links to these chat channels for individual papers will be added to the list of accepted papers.

With a blend of traditional and contemporary networking tools, our virtual participants will enjoy an experience that mirrors the excitement and connectivity of an in-person conference.
